Working to Abolish Corporate Personhood
Starting a local affiliate of MoveToAmend.org - Abolish Corporate Personhood to Restore Democracy by re-establishing government of, by and for human people - educating about corporate theft of human rights and how that has placed them in control through campaign finance domination. Corporate rights = unequal protection: human rights usurped by rich and powerful corporations used to fend off regulation and taxes. Only corporations benefit from for-profit health care, foreign wars, massive bailouts and debt based government finance system. We The People can do much better!!

Progressive's United Meetups!!!
It would be great if this site could house an online meetup organizer for progressives to get together in their community and have picnics, rally's, events, etc. It would also be awesome if there were printable documents we could distribute to local residents to describe our fight, and how to get into Progressives United.

avoid buying anything from chains stores
Support locally owned & operated businesses. Get my "fast food" from the local family-owned Mexican restaurant, and my coffee from the independent cafe. Schedule meetings only at independent restaurants & cafes. Buying household supplies from the independent hardware store. Stopping at roadside fruit stands. Choosing unique off-brands instead of big-brand colas. Filling my own water bottle at the tap.

Demand My Leaders Do The Job WE Elected Them To Do
How am "I" working to? Well, until I see an an actual, honest, truly effective and TRANSPARENT effort at change (and not just the campaign slogan version) I think I'll keep DEMANDING that the spineless leaders that I helped elect in '08 and'10 DO THE WORK THEMSELVES THAT THEY ARE PAID BY US TO DO!!

Started with the Recall of Alberta Darling.
Since that time many of us in the community have banded together to keep up the fight. We have found a great candidate that is Sandy Pasch. Once we have defeated Sen. Darling and Pasch is sworn in to office it is up to us to make sure that the candidates we have won keep up the fight against corporate greed and fat-wallet special interests.
In politics there is no grace period and political capital can not be put in a bank. We must keep the momentum on our side.
The most active citizens of this recall movement organize rallies… more

End the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan IMMEDIATELY
Both of these unfunded - and reckless - wars have cost our country more than $1 trillion (and counting EVERY day), PLUS scores of thousands killed and wounded. The sooner the US gets completely out of both countries the sooner we can put that lost American treasure back to good use!

Voter registeration drives - Get others to go door to door for candidates
Having small meetings in different neighbor hoods in coffee shops, house parties, etc. Different states WI, MI, OH have changed voting id, redistricted areas we must make sure the people who do not pay attention are aware.

Support and start co-operatives
The co-operative economy is the only sustainable economy. Yes, corporate personhood needs to be abolished and their stores need to be boycotted, but our neighbors and communities will more readily adopt our views when they recognize that there is a viable alternative: rather than permit corporate investors to govern the decisions that affect our communities and state, let's retain that power cooperatively owning those local businesses! The most meaningful step towards undercutting corporate influence is developing the co-operative economy to serve the needs that the corporations currently take advantage of!

How to fix it. For good.
Pay all our elected officials the median income level of the state they represent. Most of them are very wealthy by the time they are elected. House them together in a dorm, bus them together to work and back. Give them a small (.05%) percentage of gdp when the deficit and debt is gone . Good deal don't you think?

Spread the Message
I continually engage with my friends, classmates, co-workers and family on the issues that matter most. Pointing out the stranglehold corporations have on the America people is imperative if we are going to win this fight. Never miss a chance to help others learn more about these issues.

Check local politicians campaign contributions filings
Identify the corporate contributions of each incumbent and at election time both candidates. Let the candidate know that you are watching how they vote on issues affecting the corporate donors and will let the public know how your bribes are working out.

Pull the veil off of insincere corporate citizenship strategies
For example, Chevron's advertising campaign hides a host of abuses around the world.

I've started an online petition to use statute law to over-ride Citizens United
The idea is to put into law the principals of Jefferson and Madison in their call for a permanent ban on corporate involvement in our political system

Start my own business
Someday I want to start a business, compete with other businesses, take a little market share, and not deal corporatism with big government. I want to lead by example. If the entire next generation did this, there wouldn't be a problem. I plan to lead by example.

Vote with your Dollar
It would be great if there was a website i could go to when i wanted to buy something (especially big ticket items) and could see where the best place to spend my money is at. I know to buy local as much as possible, but some local business support right wing agendas and not everything is available from a local merchant.

Build New Kinds of Politicians
Politicians have a reputation of being focused only on getting money and winning arguments. Most politicians have a history as businessmen or lawyers, there are a few doctors in there as well. We should be getting people in there that represent the other occupations in America. Ones with innovative minds that can apply reason and logic not only in winning arguments and getting money, but in creating smart policies. We need teachers, engineers, scientists to represent us. They can represent the future. I suggest forcing some into politics and doing what we can to help them get through the political… more

School Clubs
I'm considering creating a college club based around the ideas of Progressives United. I think it would be a good idea to create Progressives United clubs for high schools and colleges similar to Amnesty International. If successful, it could get more people involved and motivated.

Treat politicans the same as "working" people of US only get paid average wage while in office ice
Average wage paid only while in office, no lobbyists can give money to the politian, insurance benefits are over as well as their salary when their limited term is up. They are treated just like the working class instead of the "kings". No special deals of boucing checks, or getting DUI etc they are just like the rest of us. Also everyone is taxed the same amount, if you make minimum wage or billion of dollars. Your are prosectuted for anything that you do illegal just like the rest of us - you cannot "buy" your way out.
